On Friday, March 8 2024, at the Batang Regency Hall Yard, the Simultaneous Cheap Food Movement was held. This activity aims to stabilize food supply and prices through low-cost market operations as a form of collaboration between the Batang district government and representatives of Bank Indonesia Tegal, the National Food Agency and Bulog in the Batang region.
Acting Regent of Batang, Lani Dwi Rejeki, said that the cheap market operation aims to control inflation and stabilize prices of basic necessities, especially ahead of the holy month of Ramadan. The high enthusiasm of the community was clearly visible from the long queues. It is hoped that the benefits of this implementation will be immediately felt by the residents of Batang Regency. The plan is that apart from the Pendopo yard, the Batang Regency Government will carry out market operations in various sub-districts three times.
On this occasion, the Head of BPS Batang Regency, Heni Djumadi together with Forkopimda participated in providing direct services to the community by distributing basic food packages in the form of rice, cooking oil, sugar and vegetables. This well-established collaboration is a concrete step in maintaining the economy and controlling regional inflation, especially in Batang Regency.
