Batang Regency Climate Change Adaptation Action Plan

Batang Regency Climate Change Adaptation Action Plan

July 17, 2024 | BPS Activities

BPS Batang Regency took part in the Focus Group Discussion (FGD) of the Batang Regency Climate Change Adaptation Action Plan held by the Batang Regency Planning, Research and Development Agency (Bapelitbang) on Wednesday (17/7). This activity was attended by several Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD), academics, media and environmental communities. This activity aims to support the preparation of a climate change adaptation action plan which can be used as a guide for policy makers and development actors in Batang Regency. Climate change adaptation is a process of strengthening and building strategies to anticipate the impacts of climate change and implementing them so as to reduce negative impacts and take advantage of the positive benefits.

From this agenda, it can be concluded that there are two indicators that can be used as references, namely the Adaptation Capacity Index (IKA) and the Exposure and Sensitivity Indicator (IKS). These two indicators use Village Potential data (PODES) as a data source in their calculations. IKA and IKS indicators can be calculated at the village level, which allows policy makers to make adaptive policies based on the characteristics of each village.
