International Youth Day
August 12, 2024 | Other Activities
Hi data friends, did you know that every August 12 is commemorated as International Youth Day? The determination of this commemoration was motivated by the aim of drawing attention to cultural and legal issues surrounding youth. In 1999, the United Nations (UN) General Assembly ratified the recommendation of the World Youth Ministers Conference (Lisbon, August 8-12, 1998) to designate August 12 as International Youth Day. Youth is one of the important components of the nation in the development process. Youth is a moral force, social control, and agent of change as a manifestation of its strategic function, role, characteristics, and position in national development. Youth are Indonesian citizens aged 16-30 years (Law of the Republic of Indonesia No. 40 of 2009 concerning Youth). Referring to data from the National Labor Force Survey (Sakernas), the Open Unemployment Rate (TPAK) of Youth in Batang Regency in 2023 was 15.65 percent. The percentage of youth in Batang Regency in 2023 is 22.92 percent of the total population.
Cheers to the youth of Indonesia. Youth will bring the hope of the nation! Happy International Youth Day!
