Abstract

Temporary Figures (ASEM) 2012 rice production in Central Java is estimated at 10.233 million tons of dry milled grain (GKG). This figure is 8.95 percent higher when compared to the Fixed Figures (ATAP) 2011 which amounted to 9.392 million tons. The increase in this figure was caused by an increase in harvested area from 1.72 million hectares in 2011 to 1.77 million hectares in 2012 or an increase of 2.86 percent. The increase in rice production was also influenced by an increase in productivity from 54.47 kw/ha in 2011 to 57.70 kw/ha in 2012 or an increase of 5.92 percent.
