Abstract

The economy of Central Java as measured by the size of Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) based on current prices in the first quarter of 2016 reached Rp 264.01 trillion and based on constant prices in 2010 reached Rp 206.32 trillion. The economy of Central Java in the first quarter of 2016 grew 5.1 percent y-o-y, slowing down compared to the same period the previous year which grew 5.6 percent. In terms of production, the highest growth was achieved by the Mining and Quarrying Business Sector (19.8%), with the highest contribution contributed by the Manufacturing Industry Business Sector (1.3%). In terms of Expenditure, the highest growth was achieved by the Non-Profit Institution Consumption Expenditure Component which grew 8.6 percent, while the highest contribution came from Household Consumption Expenditure (2.9 percent).
