Abstract

In December 2018, Central Java experienced inflation of 0.44 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 132.98. Inflation occurred in six SBH cities in Central Java

• The main cause of inflation in Central Java in November 2018 was the increase in the price of shallots, gasoline, rice, chicken eggs and air transportation of cement. The inflation rate was restrained by the decrease in the price of watermelon, garlic, kale, spinach and papaya.

• The main cause of inflation in Central Java in December 2018 was the increase in the price of chicken eggs, chicken meat, air transportation, rice and shallots. The inflation rate was restrained by the decrease in the price of snake fruit, red chili, garlic, cooking oil and milkfish/bolu.
