Abstract

In February 2019, Central Java experienced deflation of 0.30 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 132.93. Deflation occurred in six SBH cities in Central Java.

• The calendar year inflation rate in February 2019 was minus 0.04 percent and the year-on-year/Y-on-Y inflation rate was 1.51 percent.

• The main cause of Central Java's deflation in February 2019 was the decline in the prices of shallots, chicken eggs, red chilies, chicken meat and air transportation. The deflation rate was restrained by the increase in the prices of garlic, green mustard greens, kale, spinach and wages for domestic helpers.
