Abstract

The Indonesian Democracy Index (IDI) in Central Java in 2018 reached 72.17 on a scale of 0 to 100. This figure has increased compared to the 2017 IDI figure of 70.85. The achievement of Central Java's democratic performance is still in the "moderate" category. The classification of the level of democracy is grouped into three categories, namely "good" (index > 80), "moderate" (index 60 - 80), and "bad" (index < 60). Changes in the Indonesian Democracy Index (IDI) figure from 2017-2018 were influenced by three aspects of democracy, namely (1) Civil Liberties which increased by 7.14 points (from 69.07 to 76.21), (2) Political Rights decreased by 0.32 points (from 67.24 to 66.92), and (3) Democratic Institutions decreased by 3.40 points (from 78.82 to 75.42)
