Batang Regency Food and Agriculture Database FGD 2024

On Tuesday (5/3), the Head of BPS Batang Regency, Heni Djumadi, attended the invitation as one of the speakers at the 2024 Focus Group Discussion (FGD) of the Batang Regency Food and Agriculture Database at the Sendang Sari Batang hotel.

At the beginning of his presentation, Heni Djumadi explained that the population of Indonesia continues to increase every year. This has an impact on food needs that continue to increase. There is an increase in the price of several basic necessities, especially rice, which is caused by natural factors, namely the Elnino phenomenon, which results in the postponement of the planting season due to reduced rainfall which will occur in 2023. As a result, there will be an adjustment to the planting season so that the harvest season is also predicted to be delayed, namely in March-April 2024. The reduction in the amount of local rice production in early 2024 has resulted in the government implementing a rice import policy to meet the rice needs of the community

Furthermore, Heni Djumadi also explained that it is necessary to strengthen collaboration so that the use of agricultural data such as food crops, horticulture, plantations and other agricultural sectors can be better managed. Thus, in the future these data will be able to become a reliable and up-to-date measuring tool for food security.
