World Music Day
June 21, 2024 | Other Activities
Hi data friends, did you know that June 21 is also commemorated as World Music Day?
World Music Day was first coined in 1982 in France under the name "Fête de la Musique". The idea was conceived by Jack Lang, the French Minister of Culture at the time, and Maurice Fleuret, a composer and music director. Since then, World Music Day has grown into a global celebration involving more than 120 countries. To date, musicians of various genres perform on the streets, parks, and other public places, providing free performances that can be enjoyed by everyone.
The commemoration of World Music Day aims to encourage people to interact more with various types of music, songs, and various instruments. In addition, it is also to encourage all musicians ranging from amateurs, professionals, to young people and the elderly to enjoy all music genres.
Happy World Music Day to all creative actors in the music industry, especially in Indonesia.
For data friends, to make our nostalgia together, let's listen again to Mars and the Theme Song of the three censuses held by BPS: Mars Economic Census 2006, Population Census Theme Song 2020, and Agricultural Census Theme Song 2023. Keep moving forward with Indonesian music!
