Based on the official website of the Indonesian Broadcasting Commission (KPI), this warning was based on the termination of Hoso Kyoku radio broadcasts on August 19 1945. At that time, people only used radio as an information medium.

The cessation of radio broadcasts also resulted in people being blind to information. Even at that time, foreign radio stations reported that British troops on behalf of the allies would control Java and Sumatra.

With this situation, people who were active on radio during the Japanese colonial period felt the need to have radio as a means of communication in Indonesia. Thus, on September 11 1945 at 17.00, 8 representatives of the former Hoso Kyoku radio held a meeting with the government at the former Raad Van Indje Pejambon building.

The results of the meeting then determined Abdulrahman as the first leader of RRI. This date was also commemorated as National Radio Day and RRI's Birthday.

According to BPS data, the percentage of the Indonesian population who listens to radio from 2009 to 2021 tends to decrease.
Through the theme "Indonesian Inspiration" at the commemoration of the 79th anniversary in 2024, it is hoped that it can provide inspiration in carrying out the Indonesian Spirit in all information and entertainment distributed via radio as a mass media.
