Wednesday (30/10) BPS Batang Regency had the honor of receiving a visit from the Head of the Population and Civil Registration Service (Disdukcapil) of Batang Regency, Yarsono. In this meeting, the two agencies agreed to synergize in overseeing population data, which is an important asset for various public policies.

It is important to understand that population data produced by Disdukcapil and BPS does not need to be debated as to which is better to use. Both data sources are basically equally correct, depending on the context and use.

Updating population data requires an active role from the community. For example, regarding population death data, Disdukcapil can only record deaths and then delete population data after receiving a legal application from the applicant. What often happens is that the creation of a death certificate is only submitted if there is an interest in the issuance of the death certificate, such as inheritance distribution and so on.

BPS and Disdukcapil Batang are committed to mutually supporting the activities of each agency and in the management and utilization of this strategic data, in order to form the basis for better decisions in development. By immediately drafting a cooperation agreement, BPS and Disdukcapil are ready to oversee accurate data for the progress of Batang Regency.
