Rasulullah ﷺ said:

"Whoever fasts in the month of Ramadan out of faith and hoping for reward, his past sins will be forgiven." (HR. Bukhari & Muslim)

Allah SWT also says in the Qur'an:

"Indeed, only by remembering Allah, the heart becomes peaceful." (QS. Ar-Ra'd: 28)
