Hello Data Friends!

To celebrate National Statistics Day, on October 2, 2024, the Batang Regency BPS held a hybrid seminar at the Batang Regent's Hall and via the Batang Regency BPS YouTube channel with the theme "Utilization of Big Data in Regional Development Policy Planning," attended by Regional Device Organizations (OPD), villages, companies, and academics.

The Head of Batang Regency BPS emphasized the crucial role of quality statistics in supporting the vision of "Golden Indonesia," a prosperous and self-reliant nation, noting that data cannot be used directly; it is raw material that requires processing and deeper exploration to yield significant benefits.

Representing the Acting Regent of Batang, the Head of the Batang Diskominfo stated that BPS has made good collaborations, hoping for optimal results in utilizing big data to generate ideas for a modern government.

Anis Yuliastuti, a young statistician from Batang BPS, presented the website and the Gemari Statistical Literacy (Gelatik) innovation, which optimizes public services through the development of an integrated system into a single portal: s.bps.go.id/gelatikbatang.

The second speaker, Dr. Alfatihah Reno MNSPM, SST, M.Si, explained that data sources from social media, digital devices, sensors, and digital transactions can provide valuable information for solid decision-making and more effective development policies. The Acting Secretary of Batang, Ari Yudianto, stressed that good data is the foundation of good planning and policy, leading to a cycle of _good data-good plan-good decision_. Policies must be data-driven, as data is the source of all sources in decision-making.

Recognition was also given in the form of awards:
1. Best journalist in publicity and statistical information: Jumadi S.ST and Heri Kisyanto S.Pd
2. Most responsive respondents in the annual manufacturing industry survey:
   1. PT Nestle Indonesia
   2. Sendang Sari Hotel
   3. PT. CJ Feed and Care Indonesia

Happy National Statistics Day, September 26, 2024!
