Hello data friends, did you know that every November 7 is commemorated as National Wayang Day? This date refers to UNESCO's recognition of wayang as an "intangible cultural heritage" on November 7, 2003. Based on the records in the Balitung Inscription, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) then designated wayang as part of the "Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity" on November 7, 2003.

UNESCO recognizes wayang as one of the ancient traditional arts originating from Indonesia. In addition, UNESCO also explained that the art of puppetry had developed in the kingdoms of Java and Bali about 10 centuries ago, before finally spreading to almost all regions of the archipelago, as quoted from the Indonesia.go.id page.

On this basis, the Government of Indonesia then designated November 7 as National Wayang Day through the Decision
