One of the deeds that makes the mizan (scale of charity) shake is forgiving others. In Islam, forgiving is not only a noble act, but also brings great rewards and blessings. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:

"Almsgiving does not reduce wealth, no one forgives except that Allah will increase his honor, and no one humbles himself for the sake of Allah except that Allah will raise his status." (Narrated by Muslim no. 2588)

In this month of forgiveness, when sins are erased and replaced with mercy and goodness by Allah SWT, do we still hold grudges? Forgiving is not a sign of weakness, but proof of an open heart and a noble soul.

Allah never loses when he forgives His servants, and neither do we. The more we forgive, the more Allah elevates our status. Let us make this Ramadan a momentum to let go of wounds, strengthen ties of kinship, and draw closer to Allah with a clean heart.
