Brimob National Day

Hi data friends, did you know that today is commemorated as Brimob Day? The Mobile Brigade Corps, known as the Brimob, is a special unit in the National Police of the Republic of Indonesia which has a long history and plays an important role in the national security system.

The Brimob was originally known as "Tokubetsu Keisatsutai" which means Special Police and was formed during the Japanese occupation of Indonesia. After this nation proclaimed independence, the special forces of the National Police had contributed to maintaining internal security and facing the threat of Dutch colonialism that wanted to regain control of Indonesia. On November 14, 1946, the unit's name was changed to Car Brigade (Mobrig) and eventually changed to Car Brigade (Brimob) as it is known today.

Since then, Brimob has been one of the spearheads of the Indonesian National Police in various important operations both domestically and abroad that require quick handling.
